Ground Ensemble: Human-Scale Bobbin Lace Performance

2 PM, in the cul-de-sac on 4th street, between 4th and 5th ave

In this performance, participants will collaboratively weave a large scale bobbin lace ground by moving across the landscape while carrying long strands of threads around their torsos. The performance will last approximately 60 minutes, with workshop rehearsals on the day of, as well as one week prior to the event. We ask that participants attend at least one of these rehearsals in addition to participating in the workshop performance itself. Performance supplies will be provided.

Rehearsal Workshop (40 min Sessions, Attend One)
October 4th (afternoon, exact time tbd) - on Governor’s Island
October 11th at 1 PM - at the Kings County Fiber Festival
